Introduction: Make Together, Eat Together

The global pandemic caused a significant loss of two years. In the school year 2022, the "Estonia Field Study Tour: Education for a Sustainable Society," a visiting programme was conducted again. Some young people prioritize meaningful and cost-effective activities, whereas some university faculty members argue that online survey is sufficient enough and that there is no need to spend time and money in the field visits. This visit programe provides a way to add value to what appears to be a waste of resources and time, eventually making the trip worthwhile.

Sustainability refers to the well-being of environment, society, and people. All Sophia students reflected on their own and others' well-being during their stay in Estonia. Through living together in Estonia's natural surroundings, the students gained invaluable insights from one another, an experience which would have been challenging to replicate in Tokyo. I extend my sincere gratitude to all those who collaborated with us to make this programme possible.
